Sleep (or lack thereof) by Michelle K.
Amy lies there, trying to figure out what hurts more. Her pride, of course, is high on the list. Above her heart, and even the parts of her body that ache for Donna's touch.
Being a fool is the worst thing she can imagine.
And she doesn't *have* to imagine it now. Donna's brought it all to life with the announcement of her engagement. Not even to Josh -- she would've been expecting *that* -- but to some anonymous asshole who's going to hurt her.
Amy tells herself she doesn't care.
But, deep in her mind, she's concocting plans -- ways to steal her away from Moron de la Moment. Some of them are sneaky, like: slipping into Donna's apartment with the key she still hasn't given back, disrobing and waiting in the bed for Donna, whom Amy assumes would join her without second guessing it. Some are romantic: waiting on Donna's front steps with a rose and the words she could never manage to say when Donna was hers. But most are crazy, like: showing up at the wedding with an objection or kidnapping Donna and trying to deprogram whatever horrible part of her wants to marry Boring St. Jerkoff.
She's not going through with any of them, though, so it doesn't really matter.
Amy rolls onto her side, hoping to find her ability to sleep.
